William Pierce Becker

William Pierce Becker, of Hawkinsville and Tarversville GA, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the age of 52. He was born on May 20, 1970, in New Orleans, LA to the late Philip Carey Becker and the late Madge Rebecca Pierce Becker.
Will grew up in Metairie LA but spent much of his childhood and summers in Tarversville, Twiggs County, GA with his beloved maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Hendricks Pierce. Her plantation home hosted many people for parties and events, including the Von Trapp family, famous for The Sound of Music.
Will attended Christian Brothers School and De La Salle High School in New Orleans and was graduated from Ecole Classique in Metairie. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Metairie and active in the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15. He attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, serving as its secretary. Graduating in 1992 with degrees in Marketing and Engineering, he began his career at Praxair in Memphis TN and Tonawanda NY.
After leaving the corporate world, Will moved to the family home in Tarversville, becoming part owner of Westlake One, an over-the-road trucking company. He also started his own company in that field, Becker Transport. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins and was living in Hawkinsville GA.
Will is survived by his wife Diana Jones Becker, daughter Cecilia Irene Becker, son Gerald Pierce Becker, sister Elizabeth Becker Stuhlreyer, brother Philip Carey Becker Jr, niece Madge Isabella Stuhlreyer, and nephew Robert Carey Stuhlreyer. He also leaves behind his cousin Lee Teijelo and childhood friend Rusty Robbins, both of whom were like brothers to him, his dear family friend Julie Jenkins, many cousins and four much loved dogs Ellie, Bob, Jazzy and Gumbo.
Will was passionate about football, politics, fishing, cooking, entertaining and life. He was smart, generous, loyal, respectful, a stickler for manners and Emily Post, and fiercely protective of his family and friends. Above all, he faithfully worshipped Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He will be so very much missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S. Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA. Family and friends will gather in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
