Wilbert (Doc) Matthys, 83, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Rhodes officiating.Burial will be in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Matthys was a native of Wharton, Texas and a member of the Westview Baptist Church.He was a retired surpervisor for the Natural Gas Pipeline Co.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Ruth Matthys and son, Wallace Matthys.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Faye Matthys of Hawkinsville, Ga.; Sisters, Betty Jean Legler of Wharton, Texas and Gladys Marie Caylor of Phoenix, Arizona and one brother, Alvin Matthys of Wharton, Texas; daughter-in-law, Kathy Matthys of Henderson, Texas; grandson, Adrian Matthys and two great-grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
