Ruthie (Ruth) S. Hogg

    Mrs. Ruthie (Ruth) Hogg of Hawkinsville, Georgia died Saturday, August 8, 2026. She was born December 1st 1927 in Bleckley County to the late Lillia and Edward H. Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Hogg and their son, Phillip Hogg, grandson, Clay Hogg and great-grandson, J. Hogg.

    Ruth was an educator for over 40 years. She started her career in Pulaski County as a visiting teacher and ended her career in Houston County, Georgia as a special education teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the Women’s College of Georgia and her Masters Degree at the University of Georgia.

    She was a devout Christian ministering in the jails in Pulaski County for years and serving as a local Church Assistant Pastor. Ruth was an avid student of the Bible, student of The Berean School of the Bible and Rhema Bible School.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Coody Cemetery with Rev. Steve McKuhen officiating.

    Survivors include two grandsons, Travis Hogg and James Hogg; great-granddaughters, Taylor Hogg, Laila Hogg and Katlyn Hogg; great-grandsons, Tyler Hogg and Michael Hogg; several nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law, Debbie Savant (Cliff).

    Flowers will be accepted.
