Richard Alan Carney, Jr.

Richard Alan Carney Jr., born August 17, 1965, to Richard Alan Carney Sr. and Alice Coppenger-Driedric in Chattanooga, TN, has called Hawkinsville home for more than 20 years. Richard passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home.

Richard was a carpenter and electrician by trade, he was loved by all who met him. A true hardworking, salt-of-the-earth gentleman, he built his life around family, friends, and fishing. Alan touched so many lives in Hawkinsville and surrounding areas as he plied his skills, breathing new life into the many historic homes and buildings. Alan’s passion for his community will carry on through all who were blessed to know him. In his downtime, you could find him helping his neighbors, enjoying the view of his pond over a cup of coffee, or cracking jokes with his wife Dianna.

Alan is remembered for his quick wit, compassionate personality, and his laughter. He had a heart of gold and a smile that brightened any room.

Alan is survived by his wife, Dianna; stepson, Eric; mother, Alice; stepdad Fritz, and siblings, Ginger, Scott, Cathy, Billy, and Gwen. He will also be deeply missed by his stepmom, Donna; two nieces, Heather and Rachel, and their families.
