Mary Horne Spivey

MRS. MARY HORNE SPIVEY, age 81, of Hawkinsville, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, at At Home Senior Living in Cochran, GA.

Visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM Thursday, April 23, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, April 23, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Tommy Dawson and Rev. Tim Friar officiating, with interment in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mary was born in the Dubois area of Dodge County on January 20, 1945, to the late Myrtice Shadix Horne and Horace “Bud” Horne, Jr. She was graduate of the University of Georgia with her Bachelor and Masters degrees. She was an associate professor at Middle Georgia College. She later attended the Medical College of Georgia, but left to take care of her ailing parents. She earned her realtors and appraisal license and later opened her own realty firm, Key Realty, which she operated for over twenty-five years.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Myrtice Shadix Horne and Horace “Bud” Horne, Jr. and her husband, Larry Spivey.

She is survived by her daughter, Janna P. Simmons (Brian) of Hawkinsville; granddaughter, Brianna Simmons Whisonant (Jonathan); grandson, Braden Simmons; numerous cousins and extended family members.
