Katherine Johnson Waters

   Mrs. Katherine Diane Johnson Waters, age 73, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Services Pending.

   Katherine was a native of Hawkinsville, Georgia and was a retired LPN having worked at Houston Medical Center of Warner Robins, Ga.. Kathy loved to fish and play slot machines and was famous for her chicken and dumplings. In her younger days, going by the nickname Cadilac, that her dad gave her, she would be dancing at the VFW. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Lee Johnson Jr. and Alice Viola Darsey Johnsom; daughter, Catrina Orta; sisters, Helen Jones and Janice Buice.

   Survivors include her daughters, Belinda Waters and Celina Sawyer; brother, Chris Phelps; sisters, Francis Pate (Danny), Alecia Leavens, Iris Holder and Wendy Haley (Thad).; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
