Jerry Ollie Butler, Sr.

Jerry Ollie Butler Sr, 84, of Cordele, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born to the late Julian Pendleton Butler and Julian Johnnie Dickson Butler. Jerry was a retired car sales manager. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, as well as hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and trips to the beach. Jerry was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in spending time with all of them, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Frances Nannette Allen; and his brothers, James Butler, Jack Butler, and Jimmy Butler. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Butler; his children, Jerry Butler Jr. (Carrie) and Patrick Butler (Ryan); his son-in-law, Mark Allen Sr; his brother, Jessee Butler (Frances); his sister, Judy Beasley (E.B.); his grandchildren, Mark Allen, Jr. (Jessica), Catherine Allen (Shannon), Hunter Butler, Kinley Butler, and Banks Butler; and his great-grandchildren, Kylie Allen, Kade Allen, Ruby Chapa, and Rosy Chapa. He was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of another great-grandchild, Raul Chapa. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm, at Rainey Family Funeral Services. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 3:00 pm, at Pinecrest Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will gather at the Butler residence, located at 102 Carolyn Street in Cordele.
