James Edward Meeks, 66, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Taylor Regional Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung officiating.
Mr. Meeks was born on August 15, 1945 in Watertown, New York.James was a Navy Veteran and self-employed contractor and builder. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Meeks of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Michael Shawn Meeks (Cheryl) of Ocala, Florida and David Edgar Bohannon of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Cindy Lynn Wells (Jeffrey) of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Juanita Black of Orlando, Florida. Mr. Meeks is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family requests that no flowers be sent and donations be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church Building Fund.
