Francis Amlia Smith Bridges

Francis Amlia Smith Bridges, of Arabi, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia. She was born on October 6, 1940, in Pulaski County, Georgia.

Francis lived a life centered on caring for others. She was a retired caregiver, a role that reflected her giving nature and the kindness she shared with those around her. She found joy in traveling, shopping, visiting the beach, and taking family vacations. She especially enjoyed shopping at WalMart. More than anything, Francis loved spending time with her family and friends, and those moments together were among the greatest treasures of her life.

She is survived by her son, Roy Bridges; her daughters, Deborah (Bobby) Gilbert and Brenda Howard; and her sister, Jimmie Cline. She will be remembered with love by her family and by the many friends whose lives were brightened by her presence. Her memory will remain close to the hearts of those who knew her and shared in her life.

Francis was preceded in death by her husband, Preston "Bunk" Bridges; her father, Joe John Smith; her mother, Eathel Carroll Smith; her son, Cecil Bridges; and her daughter, Kathy Nobles. Their memories were an important part of her life, and they now remain joined with hers in the hearts of those who remember them.

Visitation will be held on October 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, 142 Commerce St, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, 61 Friendship Church Road, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036.

Francis will be remembered for her warm presence, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
