Dr. Khaled Ali Qasem

Dr. Khaled A. Qasem, a devoted father and dedicated physician, passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born in the Middle East, he showed exceptional academic promise from an early age and earned a British royal scholarship to study medicine in England as a teenager. He completed his training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where he met his wife, Mary Clodagh. Together, they built a family grounded in perseverance, learning, and service.

In 1970, the family moved to Canada. Five years later, Dr. Qasem was granted special permission to immigrate to the United States. The family became proud U.S. citizens in 1980.

Dr. Qasem practiced medicine in Wisconsin and later in Georgia, where he traveled throughout the state to support small emergency departments and local practices in rural and underserved communities. He also spent several years in New Zealand caring for the Māori community. His journey around the world was guided by a lifelong commitment to healing wherever he was needed.

He is survived by his son, Tareq (Micahlynn), his daughter, Yasmin, and his grandchildren, Meghan, Isabel, Aidan, and Evan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Clodagh (née Phillips), and his youngest daughter, Sophia.

Dr. Qasem will be remembered as a devoted father, a gifted physician, and a man whose intellect, compassion, and service bridged continents and cultures.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 1p.m. at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in his memory to a charity of their choice.
