Charles Eugene Mays

Charles Eugene Mays passed peacefully at Atrium Health Navicent - The Medical Center in Macon, Georgia on September 11, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1936, in Pulaski County, Georgia.

Charles worked as a lab technician and retired from J.M. Huber Corp. He also enjoyed spending time watching the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, teams he followed with enthusiasm over the years. Charles was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Waco Mays, Sr.; his mother, Aline Black Mays; his son, Kenneth Mays and several brothers and sisters. 

Charles leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pilkinton Mays of Hawkinsville, Georgia; his son, Charles Mays, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchild, Catherine Mays and sister-in-law, Faye Pilkinton. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on September 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, 142 Commerce St, Hawkinsville, GA 31036. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Friar and Rev. Charles Cobb officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the family plot in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
