Charles Gordon Hill
February 5, 1934 — July 19, 2015
Mr. Hill was a native of Amsterdam, Ga. and a member, deacon and former Sunday school teacher at Broad Street Baptist Church.Charlie was a commercial broadcaster having worked at WCEH in Hawkinsville and was a former co-owner of WVMG in Cochran, Ga.He was the morning announcer for WCEH radio for many, many years.Mr. Hill was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2013.He was very active in his community, being involved in many organizations.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annette Hill of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Lynn Hill Hogg (Freddy) of Ivey, Ga., Carol Hill Sanders (Wallace) of Jacksonville, Fla.; 4 grandchildren, Gina Reed (Jim), Jennifer Harris (Scott), Joshua Sanders, Casey Hogg; 2 great-grandchildren, Gibson Harris, Ava Harris and nephew, Robert Malone.
Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to the Broad Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at Clark Funeral Home.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
