MRS. CATHY ANN COURSON LIGGETT, age 63, of Hawkinsville, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her residence.
Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, April 23, at Clark Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, April 24, at Clark Funeral Home’s Chapel, with Rev. Donald Whitaker and Rev. Don McClung officiating, with interment in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Cathy was born in Hawkinsville, GA on October 21, 1962, to Viriginia Waters Courson and the late James Milton Courson. She was a 1981 graduate of Hawkinsville High School and later earned her degree in accounting from Middle Georgia Technical College. She worked for several companies over the years as a bookkeeper. Cathy had a passion for learning and challenging herself and later earned her CDL certification and worked side by side with her husband as a driver and bookkeeper, before once again finding another opportunity to expand her knowledge and capabilities. She earned her certification as a 911 operator and worked for several years with Pulaski County 911 as a communications officer.
Cathy was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, collecting anything related to hummingbirds, and spending time with her “favorite child”, her dog Harley.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, James Milton Courson, step-father, Glen Carroll, and brother, Bob Courson.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Liggett of Hawkinsville; son, Herman Robert Liggett (Michele Grimes) of Hawkinsville; daughter, Christina Liggett Floyd (Keith) of Hawkinsville; grandchildren, Hope Floyd-Bowen (Johnny), Kaitlyn Liggett, Valorie Ann Liggett, Ty Bennett (Veronica), Chelsey Liggett, Jordyn Floyd, and Cheyanne Marie Liggett; great-granddaughter, Kinley; mother, Virginia Waters Courson Carroll; brothers, Jimmy Courson (Rita) and Eddie Courson; sister, Mary Ann C. Gregory (Kenneth); 2 step-brothers and 1 step-sister; brother-in-law, Ronnie Flowers (Donna); several nieces and nephews.
