Mr. Bonny Colson Dixon, age 86, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Don McClung, Mr. Tommy Dawson and Mr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. in the church social hall. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dixon was born in Wheeler County, Georgia and was raised in Vidalia, Georgia. Bonny was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a retired educator having worked in the Thomasville school system, where he coached girls’ basketball and also served in McDonough one year as a vocational supervisor. He then moved to the Pulaski County school system in 1973 as a vocational supervisor and as principal in 1977 until 1994. He started then with the Juvenile Justice System of Georgia for 14 years. He loved working, fishing, watching old movies and witnessing to his children about God. He also co-authored a book. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Margaret Rockett Dixon and brother, Robert Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Dixon; sons, Gregory Dixon, Brett Dixon, Cody Dixon and Caleb Dixon; daughter-in-law, Rosella Dixon; brother, Jimmy Dixon (Patricia) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Corinth Baptist Church : 145 Corinth Church Road, Hawkinsville, Ga. or to the Gideons International Society: P. O. Box140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
