Betty Bassett Franklin

Mrs. Betty Josephine Bassett Franklin, 84, of Hawkinsville, Ga., passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin from 1 p.m. until the service begins at 2 p.m.  Rev. John Walker will officiate.  Burial will be private at Orange Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Franklin was a native of Thomaston, Georgia and a member of the Baptist faith.  She was a homemaker.  She loved to read, garden, watch birds and laugh with her grandchildren, Josh, Rachel and Callie.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Ruth Hardison Bassett; husband, Donald Eldon Franklin; several sisters and brothers.

Survivors include her son, Cal (Trina) Franklin; daughters, Teresa (Mike) Miller, Susan Franklin; brother, William Hardison Bassett; sisters, Minna Bassett, Shirley Bassett, Caro Bassett; three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
