Bessie Kilgore, of Cartersville, Ga., formerly of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away November 19, 2016 at Northstar Place in Kennesaw, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Ga. with Dr. Don McClung and Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Miss Bessie was a native ofPulaski County, Ga. and a member of Hawkinsville First Baptist Church for 69 years.She was the former Church Secretary at First Baptist where she loved working with the small children.She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and was a graduate of Crandall Business College.
Survivors include her sister, Martha Edwards Anderson of Kennesaw, Ga.; nieces, Thelma Edward Grant (John) of Loganville, Ga., Elaine Edwards McGowan (Jim) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Vickie Kilgore of Oklahoma and Melanie Kilgore; nephews, Roy Edwards (Lanie) of Cartersville, Ga., George Edwards (Jeannie) of Waleska, Ga., Charles Kilgore (Faye) of Watkinsville, Ga., Donald "Duck" Kilgore and Terry Kilgore (Karen) all of Hawkinsville, Ga., Russell Kilgore (Betty) of Fairhope, Alabama.
Flowers will be accepted, but family requests donations be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
