Ms. Barbara Jo Whorton, 69, of Ft. Valley, Ga., passed away June 30, 2021 at Ft. Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.A Memorial service will be held at Broad Street Baptist Church on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11a.m. with Rev. Mark Caruso officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service.
Ms. Whorton was a native of Atlanta, Ga. and a member of Broad Street Baptist Church. She was a writer and loved cats.
Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa Hobbs Smith (Brett Allen Smith) of Lakeworth, Florida; son, Nicolai Alexander Hobbs of Macon, Ga.; brother, Charles Edward Whorton of Tennessee; grandchildren, Connor Smith, Sara Grace Hobbs and Audrey Hobbs.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
