Hawkinsville

Mrs. Allie Sue Martin, 84, passed away the evening of November 20, 2025 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA surrounded by her family. She was born upstairs of her family barbershop in Hawkinsville, GA on April 12, 1941 to Martha Elizabeth Eubanks Wommack and Homer Terrell Wommack. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. On Sunday, November 30, 2025 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Turner officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville.

Allie Sue graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1959 and continued her education in Americus, GA before working at Robins Air Force Base. She and her husband, James R Martin, raised two daughters and recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. Allie Sue was a devoted wife, mother and Meme. There was not anything she wouldn’t do for her family. She made sure the table was always full of food and love. She was a wonderful cook and was always willing and able to feed a few friends or our entire basketball team without notice. She also spent many years as a rural mail carrier and enjoyed chatting with her friends on her route.

Allie Sue loved sitting on the porch with coffee, tending to her flowers, watching hummingbirds, and babying her cat, Bud. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow and learn. She will surely keep a close eye on them from Heaven. Her family loved her deeply and knew they were loved by her. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Furman Evans and Robert Evans.

She is survived by her loving husband, James R Martin, daughter’s, Alison M Kelley (Gregg) of Pineview, GA and Ginger M Luke (Ray) of Woodbine, GA., Grandchildren James G Kelley (Hailey) of Calhoun, GA and Marti K Jones (Josh) of Pinehurst, GA. Great-grandchildren Addison Kelley, Aralyn Kelley, Dallas Jones, and Carter Jones. Sister, Mary W Beasley (Lamar) and lifelong friend, Beth Hollingsworth, as well as several nieces and nephews.
