Theo Newman, age 77, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Graveside services for Mr. Newman will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Lancaster Cemetery with Rev. Gary Andrews and Dr. Don McClung officiating. Visitation will be held at the residence of Mrs. Sue Newman anytime after 12 noon on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Mr. Newman was born in Pulaski County on October 15, 1940 to the late Otis and Mildred Newman. Theo was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and self-employed partner of Newman Brothers Timber Company. He enjoyed being with his family and was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mildred Newman; brothers, James Newman, Harold Newman, Billy Newman, Lamar Newman and Ray Newman. Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Lancaster Newman of Hawkinsville, Georgia; son, Robert Theo “Robbie” (Ashley) Newman of Eastman, Georgia; daughter, Jill (Dan) Crochet of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Roger (Brooksyne) Newman of Hawkinsville, Georgia; sisters, Helen (Ellis) Smith of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Doris (Dickie) Scarborough of Valdosta, Georgia, Joan (Wayne) Simmons of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Laurie Mincey of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Seth Newman, Hannah Newman and Nathan Newman. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Grant Newman.
