JAMES LUTHER RHODES



James Luther Rhodes, 80, of Pineview, Ga. died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Pineview Health Care Center in Pineview, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Freddy Hogg and Rev. Eldridge Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Mr. Rhodes was a native of Wilcox County, Ga. and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a self-employed piano tuner. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Della Mae Pope Rhodes; sister, Annie Laura Livingston and brother, Eugene Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Elise Rhodes of Pineview, Ga.; daughters, Diane Bentley of Pineview, Ga. and Joanne Rountree (Buddy) of Bonaire, Ga.; son, John Luther Rhodes (Jean) of Pineview, Ga.; brother, David Rhodes of Pineview, Ga.; sisters, Martha Bloodworth of Tifton, Ga. and Johnnie Mae Helms of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted but the family requests that donations be made to the James Rhodes Memorial Fund at Planters First, Hawkinsville, Ga.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
